Gone over this with Kalopsia; For some reason it does not allow me to cast the spells prior to level 30, but it resolves at level 30, so I count this resolved for my intents and purposes.

Description of Bug Experienced:
Got a character (Favored Soul - Loremaster, level 29) who has 82 Lore and is unable to use Timestop/Mordekainen's Disjunction scrolls, which require 80 lore.


Steps to reproduce the Bug:
-> Have character (In this case, FS/Loremaster) with 20 int (With gear on, 16 base), 19 lore in gear alone, and full lore points (32 at level 29), with ESF: Lore and SF: Lore
(Adamantine bracers of knowing, Witchhunter's cloak, +1 Int boots, +1 Int belt)


Expected Result:
Be able to use Timestop Scroll


Actual Result:
Timestop scroll (And Mordekainen's) say I cannot use the item.

- I have tested this on Surface, C&P and PGCC, and none of them work
- I have taken my gear off, and put it back, it does not help.

I was having similar trouble with this a while back, but when asked to reproduce the bug suddenly I couldn't and I've not had trouble since (though I very very rarely have reason to use lvl 9 scrolls). My initial suspicion had been that it was discounting the dwarven lore bonus.

Things I was asked to provide: exact source of all my lore; try on multiple servers including pgcc.

Also try re-equiping an item before trying. For some reason this has fixed bugs for me in the past.

It's possible I'm bad at math, but I went over your numbers for a skill audit, and this is what I came up with-

32 (Skills)
19 (Gear)
5 (Int)
10 (ESF)
3 (SF)

This = 69 lore. You then list a witch hunter's cloak (+5) and addy bracers of knowing (+6), and +1 lore boots, for a further +12, which would bring your lore total to 81, but you have already seemingly totaled your lore from (Gear) at 19. "19 lore in gear alone."

Without looking at your character sheet, it looks like you tried to count the +12 from your cloak, gauntlets, and boots twice, which would still leave you at 69 total and in need of an extra 11 lore at minimum. I'm uncertain if this is the case, however, because you have your gear bonuses listed at 19, and that means 7 of your bonus is unaccounted for here.

Lore master caps out at level 5, which means if you've already pushed it to level 5, you're getting +10 to your lore checks from scroll mastery, so if I'm right, you're actually exactly 1 point of lore shy of 80, which will be rectified when you hit level 30 and put your last point into the skill.


You're also a favored soul, and favored souls are supposed to use piety to cast - if my previous guess is wrong, what's your piety at when you're trying to use scrolls? This seems less likely (especially as you didn't mention any mechanical feedback about piety in your report), but perhaps something in the piety update for resurrection scrolls is interacting with your favored soul levels and denying you the ability to cast with insufficient piety?

Went over this with Kalopsia. For some reason the game just doesn't want to let use those scrolls before level 30, even though I have more than enough lore for i (as the screenshot shows; I have 82 lore without casting any spells on myself.)
Eitherway, count this resolved for my purposes.
