Some feedback on the size change to spears. I miss being able to two-hand the spear on my small raced beings and whilst it is neat to have the shield option, is there some chance of having spears enabled for -twohand use function? This would enable a decent variation in use and would make sense as spears are often used one-handed or with two hands in combat.
Any thoughts on this idea?

Large spears do exist in the game in addition to the "regular" ones. I don't know if you can -twohand the large ones though.

Not as a small race, as they are large weapons.

More as a technical response and note to self:
Our current approach resolves the weapon animation problem that arises when a medium sized weapon intended for 1h use has 2H double-grip animation by default for small sized PCs. It also leaves said smaller PCs without a 2H polearm animation weapon variant.
We can create an interim baseitem to bridge between the size small and medium PCs for spears specifically to solve the animation inconsistencies while offering more weapon variety to small race PCs
What’s left is to “automate the process” of every time a medium character attempts to wield a medium size spear (2H polearm anim even if with shield, which is what we tried to change in the first place), the script changes it to large size (pike).
The new medium spear will have to take the new pike model or otherwise there will be inconsistencies in between the baseitem swaps.
Of course, another solution to all this is simply just revert spear to medium and let the small races double-grip said spear. Small races will be left without a phalanx aesthetics, medium races get to have a larger size weapon, and we can disable finesse on spear if we decide to.

This sounds both technical and promising. Thanks for the update!!
Preferably, small races could opt to use a small variant or medium variant of a spear. If it is a 2h weapon only, it kind of limits the powers of weapon focus polearm for a smaller race.
