cannot wield -twohand weapon with empty offhand

Wanted to use parry with Katana, but found that Two Handed mode may not properly disengage on -twohand command use with a katana equipped. Unknown if the behavior persists with other weapons.
Steps to reproduce
----------------------------
As a 19 Swashbuckler, with Fighter and Weaponmaster levels, equip a Katana and look for parry AC change on using -twohand or a macro key command for -twohand.
Expected result
-----------------------
To see a +6 AC difference with -twohand off, and a 6 less than that when -twohand is on.
Actual result
-------------------
No change. -twohand command seems not to work at all, Katana acts as a two-handed weapon for all intents except +AB when wielding with an empty offhand and acts as a one-hand weapon only when something else is present in the off hand.
