Furth's Trading NPC Shop Hours

I recently wanted to make a greensteel spear. This requires, due to how it's coded, a specific tagged quarterstaff sold on the surface at Furth's Trading by the NPC.
The NPC is only available during daylight hours.
With the new daylight hours with the time slow-down, this means the NPC is unavailable for about twelve hours out of every day.
This is immersive but it doesn't feel more immersive than it does annoying.

What needs to be done is the following:
Quarterstaff recipes need to be updated to use the correctly tagged staff.
All merchants need to be evaluated to ensure they are selling the right item.
This will take a bit to do.

Alternatively, replace the quarterstaff element of the recipe with plain ol' hardwood.

So this is totally feedback, and not a suggestion, but my feedback is that carpentry seems to over utilize “the previous tier” to make the next item. Whereas, for instance, blacksmith be easy as hells yo.
Like honestly carpentry is exhausting. I’m amazed anyone still supplies us lazy bums with wooden products.

Every time it comes up there's 2 people who swoop in to say how much they love busywork and how immersive nested recipes are. And they derail any thread trying to present problems with carpentry. So nothing is ever done about it.

But … like as a working individual, we agree right? There’s a /painful/ amount of depth to carpentry. Absolutely immersive as heck, but … ugh. It’s a lot of work for probably the least actively used trade.
This is position 100% anecdotal, I personally, rarely if ever need carpentry in my general game play outside of decorating my house.

Death to nested recipes. I stand with you.

And now to completely derail this conversation about Furth's Trading...
You know when I find crafting immersive? When there's roleplay pageantry around it. I honestly do like it when it feels like making or completing some weapon or piece of armor is more akin to a quest than it is like. A crafting prompt. But honestly, making recipes more convoluted or difficult to deal with is not the way to go about doing that. The roleplay is the fun part. I put a lot of effort into making the creation of a Dale Sword a pretty special thing recently, and I nagged a bunch of other people about it, too, and I enjoyed the roleplay... I hope everyone else involved did, too. But it's the roleplay that's the fun part.
Nested crafting recipes introduce an awful quagmire of potential points of failure that require you to go back and start over from the beginning if you screw up. I'm so cynically convinced I'll roll a 1 on some craft I have a chance to fail on that I'll often make double or triple what I need for a craft to buffer myself against the inevitable failure. Sometimes, it's paid off. It feels weird that some crafting disciplines have these kinds of things in brutal excess, and some are really loosey goosey about it.
I will say, I do like that a lot of crafts require interdisciplinary materials -- even if there's often ways to nab those materials without investing in those disciplines and/or bugging friends -- because it is a nice little nudge to roleplay. Sometimes it goes somewhere, sometimes it doesn't.

I could be very very wrong but didn't the quarterstaff sold by the half-orc woman in Cordor work in that recipe? The one that only comes out at night? I also thought it possibly the one sold in the upstairs of the merchantile. It's been a while since I needed one so I can't remember if these worked or not.

I actually like the nested recipes. I also like the term, it sounds cozy. But I like them because no one else wants to do high end carpentry stuff, making me rich when I do. Not because I like more work.
Good luck with Operation fix crafting recipe items Spyre.
