Falchion not considered a 'Slashing Weapon' for Keen Edge

After experimenting with some loot scrolls, I found that a 'Keen Edge' scroll returns an error message when used on a bronze Falchion. It reports that the Falchion is not a slashing weapon, even though that's its base damage type.
Steps to reproduce
----------------------------
Obtain a Keen Edge scroll.
Attempt to use it on a property-less Falchion.
Expected result
-----------------------
Keen Edge cast.
Actual result
-------------------
Error message.

It's possible that the spell also doesn't work on other new slashing weapons. I didn't test.
