This is in regards to the writ "Quell the Troglodyte Queen's ambitions"

In the lower section of the fort you can encounter a Kocrachon (Tormentor). This writ is, if I remember correctly, ranged from levels 8 to 16.

This thing slaps hard, summons Erinyes and is epic level'd. And it's not the boss. It just stood there in the middle of the lower section of the fort, baiting nooby adventurers like myself to have a go at it and likely fail miserably.

I suggest replacing this thing with something more reasonable for the level range of this writ.

EDIT: Someone on Discord suggested that it might be a summon left behind by another player. I don't see how that'd work but if this is the case then I apologize for bringing this up.

It is an optional mini-boss, and it hits damn hard - In a group, I've only been able to handle with warlocks shooting it from afar.

You can easily avoid it. Arelith isn’t a theme park mmo where everything is designed to perfectly cater to your level. Hard optional encounters are okay

That's the exact opposite of the impression Arelith gives me.

Tough optional foes have been more of a thing, and I support it.

This one in particular isn't that bad. You can avoid it, and considering it starts the combat by casting a few spells, you can(and should) rush it.

Of course, if it's your first encounter, you probably won't know and will get whacked. But that's part of the fun of discovering, in my opinion.
But I'd understand if it wasn't everyone's cup of tea though.
