Hello, sorry for the delayed thread but better late than never i suppose. So as some of you know the Andunor Navy(Butcher Crew) has dissolved around about 10 days ago. It somehow fell to my character(Suleyvan al-Vahs) to finally wrap up this awesome faction. I wanted to extend my thanks to everyone who was involved, but frankly there are so many of you guys that I'll not even attempt to name every single person/faction directly.

First and foremost I'd like to thank all the sailor players who made the Navy even possible to run. The organization, camaraderie and dedication you guys have displayed over the many months the Navy was active remains unmatched. It was an absolute blast to play alongside with each and every one of you. A separate thanks must go out to Admiral Gorehound and Dread-Captain Jhaamdath Xun'viir who, with their fantastic characters, acted as figureheads to this organization of misfits and corsairs defining the spirit of the faction out on the seas.

Another series of thanks would have to go out to the factions of the Underdark who gave their support to the Navy both on the seas and on land. Although relations weren't always perfect, as politics are often stormy, at a certain point more than half of Andunor had pledged to, or were actively supporting the Navy. Without their manpower, material and moral support the Butcher would have never run for as long as it did.

And a final thanks I'd like to extend to our opponents out in the seas, the other crews of Arelith. Always great sports in both IC and OOC, even at times when we messed up ourselves, they were an absolute joy to have as rivals. It was truly fun to exchange powder with all of you.

The Butcher, as it was, remained and still remains an undefeated and unsunk behemoth in the sailing history of Arelith. Yet time marches on and everything must come to an end eventually. So thank you all for partaking and I'll see you guys on another toon(probably).

LONG LIVE THE BUTCHER!

Undefeated, but not easily! I remember several times when things came close and we pulled through by the skin of our teeth xD

The Navy faction was so much fun, I can't imagine being able to replace how much went on in this crew. Gorehound was the best admiral, and Jhaamdath a fabulous Dread Captain. No, things weren't always smooth sailing (pun intended), but the RP and intrigue and working through it was always where the crew got tighter together and stood for each other. Wouldn't have had it any other way! It was an honour to play as a Captain for these folks, the players and characters both are all treasures.

And we still hold the award for 'Most diverse crew', in my book.

I only had the privilege of sailing with the Butcher crew for a relatively short time compared to their history, but I can say it was some of the most fun I had on Arelith since returning to NWN. It was an entertaining cast of characters and a helpful group of players. Whatever time left I have on this server, I don't think I'll find a more enjoyable faction to participate in.

While unable to sail the mighty oceans, I enjoyed hearing of the butchers adventures. Thank you to everyone who brought the faction to life and to those who supported the ship from land.

Beware the Butcher of the Seas,
Pay in Tribute or your Lives,
Words carry on the ocean's breeze,
That we sink thee all below the Tides.

My Wizardess began her journey with the Butcher, as a lass who could not swim and got violently ill at swaying boat rides. She had no interest in sailing then, she'd merely come along on a trip because her good friends had asked her to get involved.

And then the Butcher engaged Two Flagships at once, and it became a contest of wits and skill. It wasn't a matter of who had the most numbers or who could bring the most sheer raw power, it was a challenge of talents and ability of teamwork. And I realized that I enjoyed the challenge of rallying a team of different skillsets and seeing just how far we could go.

As the Butcher's time has come to it's end, my Wizardess has evolved to a lass who.. still can not swim and sometimes wants to be ill at swaying boat rides. But she's gained knowledge and skills, and has taken to doing Captaining of her own for casual piracy. CAPTAIN STORM!

The Butcher's crew was a mis-matched band of miscreants that found a home together and engaged in all sorts of hilarious antics you just didn't see anywhere else in the Underdark. "Let's kidnap a bartender to serve us drinks while we sink Amnians" And that spirit and camaraderie will be missed. This crew created fun for all those around them, and the Underdark will be less with the Butcher's dissolution.
