I crash repeatedly when I login to Arelith servers.




Steps to reproduce
----------------------------
1) Sign in to Steam
2) Open NWN
3) Connect to Multiplayer
4) Connect to Arelith servers (CP, Surface, any of it)
5) crash


Expected result
-----------------------
Expected not to crash at all


Actual result
-------------------
Crashing repeatedly unless i put my beta build to 8193.28

Misc Notes

I can only login Arelith servers if I put my NWN beta to build 8193.28

Otherwise I would not be able to play. All my settings have been put to "low" graphics.

When I put my build to 8193.28 and able to login there is a RED MESSAGE I get on my right screen, the 2nd screenshot above.

So I just play like this til a fix is done.

Ive sent all my nwn crash logs to beamdog, for the last few months.

The ones before that I could download it from the beamdog website I guess if its needed, but i delete all the crash logs after I report them to beamdog so I dont resend them the same files.

Can you send the original files via Discord to me? That way they can be handed over to Symphony and analyzed?

I had Symphony analyze your crash reports. Here are some things that were mentioned:

Your five crashes that you reported had to do with your 2020 Nvidia Driver. Symphony is unable to look at the code for Nvidia Drivers. When was the last time you updated your driver to see if this corrects your issue? If you have a driver update, I’d recommend that as a first step in clearing it from the list of possible causes.

You also have almost 35,000 portrait files installed which is an excessive amount. You will likely crash on character creation with excessive portraits - this is often the case when people have multiple portrait packs installed. I’d recommend lowering the number of portraits / installing only needed packs.

Do you have any recent crash logs and dmp files you can send me?

LOL. I deleted my unneeded portrait files. I also updated my drivers.

The next time it happens I will be sure to save them.

I have had no issues for over a week now... must have been a fluke
