Never been a fan of things like this. I guess some people are even if I have yet to meet any of them, or they wouldn't be a thing, but that's not what i am here to debate. Instead, I wanted to bring up the most egregious aspect of them- AI enemies can still cast with no draw back. Take a certain queen in one of these areas, that would be a tough fight with mords and lightning shield even if you could cast, and add her casting with impunity, and well ...it's just not a fun situation to be in. They should have the same draw backs as we do.

There is nothing worse than the NPCs following different rules than the PCs, in any game.

I'd appreciate more details on this. Which area? Which source of anti magic, the spell or the area flag? Which spell? Which NPC?

Second level of the copper mines near new guldorand. The Formian queen was the boss I was referring too. Easily the toughest boss wtihout a runic chest behind it I have ever run into, but the underdark may have something tougher that I haven't come across yet. The two spells I cast down there last night both caused wild magic surges, one of which left 600 lbs of bricks in my inventory so I couldn't run away (lol) because I didn't know it was there. But the queen cast lightning shield, mords, tendrils a few times, no problemo.

That's funny, she used to suffer the wild magic zone thing last time I fought her. I wonder if she got really lucky and didn't fail a roll, or if someone changed it so she no longer was impacted by it.

This is very possible, but I have fought her a handful of times before (usually on a melee where the wild magic didn't matter) and not once have I noticed them get effected. The one time i was down there on a sorcerer, I was impacted about 50% of the time, and last night on a bard both castings of mass haste were boinked. Does that mean that every time they actually weren't effected? I can't say for certain, its a tough fight and I am usually more concerned with whats going on with me in those situations.
If it is working as it should be, just chalk this thread up to me jumping to the wrong conclusion.

You're probably right then, I've not done it in ages.
