Food Updates

So we've had a Kudos thread for this yet, but not a Feedback thread - I'd just like to take a moment to echo the Kudos thread here by saying that I do adore the update: a lot of the new icons are really nice, and it's great to have new options to make and esp. to be able to have more than 2-4 custom foods in your inventory now before stuff starts overriding each other.

Buuuuuuut.

It's kind of a pain, to see how much work goes into making any of this stuff (and if you aren't just making sausages or the 2-3 other roasted meat items, it's a LOT of work and a LOT of raw materials) it kind of hurts to find out that you've just sunk that effort into something that restores 5-10% food, tops. Fruit Medleys sink 120% Food worth of ingredients into making 3 items that restore 10% each, for example. Bone Broth is the only one I'd consider carrying as a replacement for food rations, and that's just because it restores 10% water in addition to 10% food - a poor man's Sustenance Potion.

I think it'd be good to tweak the numbers here, given how difficult it is to assemble the ingredients for a lot of these things. They should be made on-par with (or at least nearly on par with) Food Rations at least.

Whole-heartily agree, i have a few things in mind

1, food item vendor in tavern so cooks can get side ingredients easily, eggs and seasonings, if needed

2, smaller dishes can be simplified, like, roast fish with herb and salt. The big platters can use more stuff but has good results.

Otherwise PC can just loot mobs for food and drink....really

Kelp and jelly is rather annoying too.
The former is a bit too rare in my opinion and is used in making the latter.
The craft for jelly makes three while some of the recipies need four.

Good news is if you fish up jellyfish, they drop jelly when you gut them. You can bypass kelp entirely.

I had better luck getting kelp by using no bait at all but it's been a few months since I used the system. Can't wait to get back into it.
