I know this isn't Facebook... but with media today it's awesome when people can show their support or lack there of for someones idea. It wouldn't really cut down on the number of comments but it would allow people to show their support without having to write it out. Don't even necessarily need to have a dislike button per say just simply a like button would be great! Especially for the suggestion box and announcement thread might help people feel like they're being heard a little more.
