I was not sure if this is a Bug or just because game mechanics and you just can't change it.

What I found was that some races do not let you -disguise_race .. I tried with Yuan'ti and Hobgoblin and it failed in all race type disguises saying

Examples..
Hobgoblin...Can not disguise your current race "Hobgobin" as a "human" because its not similar enough..

Yuan'ti....Can not disguise your current race "Human" as a "Elf" because its not similar enough..

I'm like 99.9% sure this is working as intended.

AFAIK Race disguising tries to fall in line with wysiwyg to streamline the believeability of it.

If you successfully disguised your obvious hobgoblin as an elf or something you're going to be inadvertently metagamed almost immediately by anyone who is just going with the flow and didn't fastidiously examine the bio.

So rather than hold everyone else to account for that kind of weirdness it's better just to not let it happen in the first place by making disguises only match the character size model.

Out of curiousity have you tried going from yuan-ti to half-elf?

I had to wait till I got home and try -disguise_race half_elf for the Yuan'ti .. that works
