Avariel unable to craft Elven Mail/Longsword

Avariel are not on the list of accepted elven subraces to craft elven chain or elfblades. Avariel is an chicken elven sub race.
Steps to reproduce:
Avariel blacksmith attempts to craft the above.
Expected result:

No shines ):

Misc: Is this intended by lore design? aka almost extinct, almost entirely seperated from elfdome until recently, no sharing of culture, et al. If so, it makes sense, but would be neat to get an avariel-craft specific (but useable by others!) design. Thanks for reading.
