Player made pirate treasure

I think it would be neat if each player could bury up to 1 treasure chest anywhere (or in places that wouldn't be a massive nightmare to dig and bury something) on the server as sort of a hidden personal treasure stash that others could possibly find if not well hidden. The way this would work in my mind is it should require you have a treasure chest, and a shovel. When you use the shovel on the treasure chest if it is an object you set down (obviously so you can't bury loot chests in dungeons) it buries the chest creating a "stash" like your quarter stashes with the contents of maybe five item stacks max. If you already have a buried treasure the action instead prompts you to dig up your other buried treasure first. Then when you return to that location if the buried treasure was yours it is visible to you otherwise you have to pass a check like the other buried objects (probably higher than them since it is player treasure). Obviously this would need to have safeguards to prevent mule behavior nonsense but the following uses come to mind for me:
  • Someone has an item they want to store but there has been someone quarter cracking recently, they could try to hide it somewhere off in the wilderness.
  • Pirate booty!
  • Scavenger Hunts
  • Extra Storage for players who can't manage to get a quarter that is not as secure as the settlement storage
  • Geo Caching (Because why not)
I'm aware each chest would be a database entry on the server so obviously this may not be possible, but if it is I think it'd be a neat idea that adds a bit more flavor for stash options. Also, did I mention Pirate Booty?

This sounds like a very cool idea, but the barriers of implemtnation are likely too high. Sorry but we have to deny this.
