This recipe has one major problem
It requires a whole squid instead of tentacles of which are used in nothing I have happened to find.
Since the recipe isnt for a fried squid but for its tentacles in rings, it would make more sense to have it require Tentacles and not the entire squid.

Here's a recipe of how to make your own Calimari. It does not use the tentacles, but the body of the shrimp.
The tentacles are used in another recipe, Tako Nigiri, along with rice. I do agree that both rice and Tentacles could stand for more uses, but this recipe is accurate.
