At least 3-4 attempts in a row over the last week of finding nothing in Runic chests has hammered home how badly this system punishes players for bad timing.

Please please please change the timer for when someone else loots the chest. If you go all the way through the dungeon, kill the boss, unlock a chest, remove the trap and find nothing because someone else looted it a while before you, that is just no fun and makes no sense.

Keep the individual timer for runics, but please shorten or adjust the timer on the chests itself so others can benefit from their hard work getting to a Runic chest. Or provide some indicator so that we don't waste a bunch of resources, limited play time, to find nothing at all.

The other option is DON'T trigger a player's timer if they open a chest and receive nothing, same for the party. Not only do you not find anything, but now have to wait hours to even go try again, it's really terrible.

Are you making sure to kill enough enemies on your way to the boss / chest? There are certain requirements that need to be filled before the loot spawns in the chests.

This is already the case. You are not put onto timer if you didn't find any loot.
