I dare say something under the hood is really wrong...or I'm having a terrible day.

I went kicking around the vault because my main is borked in a separate incident. Tried playing a different character but got no xp from writs:

Then finally dusted off an old character to try cleric paths while waiting to see if the first can be restored...and this happened:

This character went from 9th lvl to 2nd level. No great tragedy, but I think maybe something larger is very, very wrong.

Update.

I have slowly been going through my vault to update or delete old characters. I can now safely say, this XP loss reliably happens to old clerics and so far...no one else.

Just lost all my xp on another cleric.

Quite a bit more painful this time. Submitting a support ticket.

Just going to rip the band aid off and do them all.

This is still an active bug with clerics.

Also, to add to the puzzle, I logged another old-ish cleric who didn't need to relevel as he was only level two.

It stripped him of all weapon proficiencies. All of them. He now has -8 to use any weapon.

Also, appealed to DMs to fix some of this. DM Potato was helping, but nothing resolved. Could still use some help.

If your character is hit with multiple re-level requirements (because you had not played them actively / many forced relevels were pushed) it can cause the system to hit level 2 and stay there as the next is applied and wants to keep you at 1000 experience.

If this is the case, report it to the Active DM with the screenshot and timeframe and they can review and restore lost experience.
