Merge Servers

So, as I understand the three servers were split in order to improve performance, but this was back in the days of higher player counts. (Gods I remember the days when I couldn't guarantee getting onto a server because they were all full, both not missed, but also missed).
Since then we've had declining player counts, and we've swapped to linux. Does this mean that performance would still be satisfactory if the servers were merged once more? The benefit would be having all players feeling able to interact when when so far apart as Cordor to Andunor, of having epic spells able to reach everwhere, of having portal access everywhere, and no more awkward loss of wards when crossing transitions. I think it might help improve interaction; the UD can almost be treated like an entirely separate world to the surface by some characters, and I think that's not the best way to do it.
