every other guild-house on the server has the inheritance system where if the owner releases it the guild-house is then given to someone that owns a room inside of the guild-house
the dis penthouse is a guild-house
and it does not have this system
whether intentional or not i think that's a crying shame, especially since - well. every, other guild-house has it.
inheritance is bad for the server. One group can hold a property for years and years and years. Instead, remove it from all other guild houses.
A nice middle ground might be to tie the guildhouse to a faction and then simply put a time limit on it, like 1 or 2 RL years or something. Further measures could probably be implemented to prevent people from using sockpuppet factions to abuse this system.

As long as they are being actively used by a group at this point I honestly don't care if a group holds onto it. If it gets to the point of people hogging it DM intervention should be happening to address it.
I simply fail to see why this one is the exception to seemingly every other setting that the other guildhouses have. It is very frustrating, especially to established groups in Dis. But that's going off into the weeds.

1-2 RL years is pretty generous. Some areas of the server have been held onto for 5+ RL years at this point. Whether it’s active or not, is this a good thing? No one else even has a chance other than through bugs, IC sabotage, or a player forgetting. And let’s face it- the kind of people who hold onto things this tight rarely forget to log in and touch their prize.
