Some fixture suggestions

I don't normally suggest things, but I think this is worth suggesting. (Feel free to just read the bold text, if you're in a hurry :P)

My thought process:
Whilst walking about one of the settlements, I started wondering to myself what fixtures I could construct to create more immersion. You know, things that haven't been thought of yet. I'm totally fine with the idea that i can't add anything new, but I walked about this settlement anyway, to see if there could be.

That is when I realized...we don't have a lot in the way of "settlement protection fixtures". What I mean is (and I might be wrong), but I don't see many fixtures you can build that look like they can protect a settlement. This isn't crucial, but it gave me an idea.

The idea:
What if players could construct things such as 'ballistas', 'catapults' and other siege weapons? Or perhaps spiked barricades? These all could have no practical benefit at all (The weapons don't actually do anything for example), but they would look so nice as background objects. Creating these items should be rather difficult though, with a high DC number, but I leave that to the smarty pants to figure out if they pick up this idea :P.

I figure that to make a 'ballista', for example, you need to gather quite a bit of wood to construct the frame itself: (Carpenting) 4Softwood, 2Hardwood, 2 iron ingots
Then you would need to build the mechanical components: (Forging) 6Iron ingots, 3Bronze ingots, 4Animal sinews.
Then combine them to create a ballista, with a high chance of failure.

Conclusion:
I think it would look rather nice if people could make their own "siege" weapons and use them for RP purposes (even if they don't actually do anything). It could actually generate some nice RP stories: Imagine a siege of a city or turning a civilian ship into a battle ship or fortifying an isolated location. Just a thought.
