Bedroll +15% Rest

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

Bedroll +15% Rest

Post by The Kriv »

Select merchants could offer an item that PC's could carry in their inventory that if 'used' would:

1) create a bedroll temporary on the ground, that if interacted with, would allow the PC to rest beyond the 50% rest normally available by 15%, to say up to 65 Rest. -the item could have a rest-timer on it to prevent multiple PC's from using it in a row (git yer own dang bedroll!)
Note: This item would *not* be persistent, and would be destroyed at server reset.

2) create a "tent" item that if you dropped on the ground, and then interacted with you could increase your Rest by a maximum of +25% allowing a max of 75-rest. This item would be considerably heavier than the above bedroll... and would also have a timer on it to prevent use by multiple PC's (git yer own dang tent!)
Note: This item would *not* be persistent, and would be destroyed at server reset.

3) create a "Canopy" that if you dropped to the ground and then interacted with that initiates a conversation tree with 2 options:
(a) Sleep/Rest Option: will allow you to rest up to +25% allowing a max rest of 65, but is usable by any PC.
(b) Camp/cook Option: will create a campfire ring that will function as a cooking workstation. This campfire ring is not a persistent object, and and not only will it not be saved on server-reset... it will despawn when all PC's have exited the area it exists in (like other inventory objects)... or it will time-out and dissappear after 2 IG hours (Fire burns out)
Flavor: using "Firewood" will extend the life of the fire another 2 hrs. (Hooray more usefulness to existing items!)

doing a -pickup_fixture would allow you to collect your bedroll/tent/canopy (although the fire would burnout on it's own in the case of the canopy... why would you pickup a fire anyway?? )
-Unit of beauty required to launch one ship = 1 milihelen
