More Output on Closed Assassin Contracts

Received a private message through the admin group for the following suggestion from a player who prefers to remain annonymous as they are currently playing an assassin. I felt it would be fine for me to post the suggestion in their place. To be abundantly clear, this is not a suggestion from me but from a player. Full details follow below:

tl;dr- Give players a bit more info about how contracts ended to improve assassination RP.

Playing a Guild Assassin has been fun, and I have the most fun toying with targets, making them feel like prey, and ultimately letting them go once the contract is over, or enjoy my spoils. I even like to leave little gifts, calling cards or notes, after it's over. With that said, my RP is a bit stifled by not knowing the outcome of contracts that I was unable to collect. Did their contract expire and I took too long? Did one of my business associates get to them first? Or did they pay it off? How can I thank someone for the game of cat and mouse and congratulate them for winning if they were actually killed? I look ridiculous.

Part 1) With that I would like to propose a rather small change that could be added to the Guild House contracts board that could greatly improve assassination RP. A small bit of info could appear after a contract is over with how it ended:

Open Contracts:
“Sheriff Wanna-be-dead - 500000”
“Politicette Rival - 300000”

Closed Contracts:
“Victim McDead - 100000 (Collected)”
“Moneybags Merchant -150000 (Paid)”
“Sneaky Aliveman - 50000 (Expired)”

It is even possible that all contracts could just stay on the board for 30 days, move to ‘closed’ with how they were closed, and then you don’t even need ‘expired’. It would just be known that if it’s gone, it expired.

Part 2) To go along with that, I do not see why all of this needs to be mechanically locked behind The Guild door. The public room already has the book of recipients. This could be added mechanically so that when you click on the book it would give you the most recent closed contracts. Though it shouldn’t have the details of how it closed, as that should be left to non-assassin contractors to learn on their own. (Even more generated RP!)

I might even suggest one step further and have up to ten names appear when you use the recipient book, but use NWN random name generation to add a new name to the top of the list each time an assassination quest is turned in. That way, if a contractor wants to know if their contract was closed, they need to return to The Guild often to check, thus risk being discovered as the one that put the contract out in the first place. The latter part being RP that only exists by word of mouth right now with no ICly mechanic to learn, that I am aware of.
