Description
I'm attuned to Tharizdun (Eldritch patron) on my chaotic evil cleric. When typing -pray though it says that I'm not aligned to any deity.

Steps to reproduce

  • create new chaotic evil cleric (warpriest)
  • chose deity through deity book (i chose deity on character setup screen already)

Expected result
getting something for praying - buff or something else

Actual result
You are serving no deity is displayed (even though attuned to Tharizdun)

Which Server(s)?
Underdark

There's worshipping and there's attuning.

Worship is the actual god you worship/that gives you powers.
Attuning is a secondary deity you venerate.

Right now, you're likely worshipping no deity.

Mechanically, attuning makes it so that you gain piety from the aspects of the deity you attuned to. That means if you want to worship a deity, but their aspects don't fit your character too well for piety generation, you can attune to some other god, whose aspects are more in line with your build.

You can select a deity to worship the same way you attuned.
If you only see an option for attuning and not worshipping for a certain deity, clerics for some reason get extra restrictions on who their worship, so the god might racially not be available or be too far away from your alignment.

Thanks for clarifying, selected another deity that fits now and it works. I wasn't aware there's a difference between worshipping and attuning.
