Can someone help me with this? I see that there's a 20/10 bard/dirge build out there somewhere, but its not clickable in the spreadsheet I have access too so just wondering if someone can help me with what to take and when. I've never really touched bard before, so its all new to me.
I'm not sure 17/3/10 is optimal or even good at all.
Not only you drop 3 cl vs dispels, you also drop bard lvls 18-20 which give you more spells. Your song lvl is already quite high and is also 30 for your undead summons so personally I would recommend 20/10 because 17/3/10 would mean giving up too much stuff.

17/3/10 has 30 CL versus dispels. It doesn't even need AD: Abjuration. This has been stated to be intentional.
However at this point with evangelist a Dirgesinger serves a deity. It may be great mechanically but the RP should be in focus to furthering the deity who grants their cleric power's wills.

Feel free to test on PGCC.
Actually we did test it, and I dont know if it's been changed since (there was no documented change since tho, I'll say that) and you do not get the +3 cl for items/potions, only your spellbook. Items have 27 cl. I also question whether or not it is actually in fact stated as intentional. I havent seen such statement anywhere and the wiki speecifically says cleric dip cancels the +3 cl bard gets. So the fact you do lose the +3 for wands/potions/etc but keep it for your spellbook contrary to what is advertised on the wiki, for me is a red flag that it's not working as intended and is likely just bugged.

You do not though. I don't know how you're testing it.
I tested it about the same way you did. Interesting. I was doing it on bard evangelist palemaster, so maybe there's some difference there, although I dont see why there would be. I guess something changed.

Nah, nothing changed. It's specifically the combination of bard-dirge-evang that works and nothing else.
Interestingly, 17/3/10 doesn't even qualify for the +3 CL versus dispels, since it doesn't even reach 21+ bard, but something about dirgesinger is allowing evang to be treated as full levels for CL versus dispel.
It's been reported as a bug before(somewhere in an old report), and was stated to be working as intended.
yeah 11 bard 3 evangelist 16 pm also doesnt get 21+ bard lvls but was/is getting +3 cl vs dispels on spellbook (but not items) for some reason. I havent seen the bug report you mention, so I'll take your word for it. Good to know.
