Rayne's Landing Cauldron

Post by silverpheonix »

After some further experimentation, and testing with known, confirmed recipes, the cauldron appears to be broken.

We can put valid ingredients into the cauldron. There is no summon warding active, no conjurations already present. Different PCs have tried the same known, valid recipe (illithid, giants) and it will not work. The biological ingredient gets consumed, and the catalyst stays, and we get the summon failed message. This result normally happens if you already have a summon or conjuration out and there isn't room for another.

There are some skill checks that could be causing the summon to fail.
What's the level and class of the characters involved?

30 wizard, 70s spellcraft. We had three or four failures in a row with zero success. Never seen a failure before absent summons already out.

Rigsby I think is 27/3. Wildmage

This is the issue.

If this thread is mysteriously moved to the fixed section, I probably figured what to do with this.

Actually, there might be no issue.
Are you 100% sure you aren't forgetting any of the components?

The mystery has been solved. For once, it wasn't Rigsby's fault (directly).
