It used to have teeth - it is currently kind of an aesthetic meme. It doesn't need to be murderous but having it be like a "stronger version" of the Shadow Conjuration line that could take any shape would be both beneficial for "violent" actions and be fitting.
Could also have it stack with the shadow conj in that you could summon all 4. Or use it in conjunction with other summons.
