Arelith

When Arelith started it's own discord it was in an attempt, if I recall correctly, to provide a single server for players to engage with the whole gambit of arelith players. A lot of discord servers that had been independent came into the fold and were officially recognized by Arelith as Arelith Supported Settlement Servers.

The biggest issue with this arrangement that has persisted to this day is that these servers possess moderators and owners that serve as an implicit bias against change to actions in game. It's a place for players with a fancy colored name to be regarded out of game as an authority in these settlements.

This implicit bias to defer to these players as authority, even if they haven't said authority in game, creates a cycle of stagnation that I think needs to be addressed. It is challenging for new players that come here seeking maybe questions or answers about the game to find someone in a moderator role in these settlement servers and assume they've also authority in game as well.

Please consider deleting all the Official Settlement servers and remove players from, both unknowingly and knowingly, using their role on these servers to advantage themselves in game.

Settlement servers are owned and run by the Admin / DM Team.

Settlement leader roles are assigned based on the current government and they can designate roles to their staff. New leadership means a new migration of roles to different people - it is continuously in a state of change unless the settlement has not changed leadership and they are continued to be elected.

If there are concerns of OOC influence IG, report it. Discord is meant to have settlement servers to enable those people to interact strictly OOC. Discord will never be an in-game medium.
