Epic Sacrifice Numbers

Hello,

I am uncertain if this is adding correctly but I figured I would ask since I cannot wrap my mind around the numbers.
I rolled a character today, got a prompt for a "30,000" ap reward.
I log in to check and see how many points were applied, I went from this first screenshot to the second I'll include below.

First: (Dated 5-29-25)

Second: (Dated 6-3-25)

So, I rolled an epic reward, triggered a 90 day cooldown and did not get enough points to make a greater tier reward character or am I looking at this incorrectly?

Edit, to clarify the first screenshot was on a different character, one I did not roll.
The one I did roll did not have a reward on it. It had less than 1 million coins, but I think between 600-700k, not quite 1million.
I'm uncertain what else I can provide information wise if it is needed to like, math things here.

You got: 81,000 + 30,000 + 42,403 = 153,403

2,231,222 - 2,125,231 = 105,991

So, I'm guessing that first screenshot is not the one rolled?

The majority of your AP now comes from actually playing the character, not from the sacrifice roll. I can see the follow-up comment being "my character isn't worth much now" but it was; you got 2 million points out of your historical stuff.

Correct the first screenshot was a different character than the one I rolled.
Before the change in the reward system I had 8 or 9 normal rewards and I think 4 or 5 minors, after historical points were applied I had over 2 million.

So the system is working as intended if it takes 270 days to earn a single greater reward, assuming you roll higher on the hidden d100? This feels off if it is the case.

It's working as intended, yes.

The idea is that you need to play the game and not just grind and roll for a chance, yes. That's as per design. If you're making new characters every month and rolling on cooldown each time, you can make about 45-50k per month with the exploring bonuses. I don't know why you'd do that instead of just play your story and roll it when it's done, but if you want to maximize your AP, that's how you do it. The gap between the two is not very large.

You've got 5.5 greater rewards available to you right now (or almost 3 major rewards). I'd say you're much better off now, considering you had 0 of them before. I'm not sure what feels off in this case.

Is there any point gathering 1 million gold to roll with now? Seems like the gold at this point is probably more useful than the chance at meager points. I'm wondering how much more the assassination system will be used as a spite gold-dump before rolling a character.

Yes. The more gold you have, up to 1 million, the greater your odds at the larger 'bonus' AP.

I think Dreams' comment is more so that it only gives you a 5% chance vs a 10% chance to get an extra 15,000 AP (which isn't very much).

I admit, it no longer feels like there is a need to stockpile gold for the sake of rolling.

Perhaps the additional AP gained when rolling can scale with gold directly instead of changing the chance of more? This system is all about removing RNG, so why keep it in there?

Maybe also increase the random roll amount max to make it feel worth while to remove gold from the world, as well?

Honestly, I see the point, however I was never one to farm awards, so it doesn't really affect me. Actually, since I've got more of a -remake addiction I actually lost out on lots of AP, having played only 1 character with any real focus for nearly 4 years straight but had many remakes.

This is the core of it. Saving up 1 million gold can be really difficult for the more money-hungry characters, but super easy on other characters. By the time you're rolling the AP really isn't as meaningful compared to the actions you can set in motion with the use of the gold - whether that be through assassinations, setting up friends, whatever. There's less need to use the gold so more will stay in the system.
