Multi-use Ioun Stones?

I'm sure this has been said before but... why in the hells are Ioun stones single use on Arelith? They're once per days in base game! And even then it's wrong. Ioun stones are magical gems that float around your head and give you a color based bonus (Which they got correct) it's definetly not a consumable.
In fact, Ioun stones should by rights have their own equipment slot if they're used in a game, but Baldur's Gate used the helmet slot for Ioun stones which was accurate enough, but still not entirely correct.
What I'm saying is, can we at least return them to the acceptable base game version? We can even jack up their price, have them be the highly sought after artifacts they're supposed to be.
