Add a guard widget, a clicky that can be activated by the player in order to select another player to -guard. The overall goal is to be able to use your mouse to target team mates for -guard, allowing -guard commands to be less cumbersome, especially in battle. More explicitly, the idea is, you click the widget icon on your quick bar, you click your team mate, and he's guarded, no typing required.

The player tools widget seems to have the exact functionality required, as it allows one to use the mouse to target allies for subsequent effects.
