A big old kudos from Edrahil.

Post by Aodh Lazuli »

Well now... Edrahil is taking a fairly extended leave from the isle in order to do a few minor things like raise a family and not have people/things making a fine effort at killing him for a bit.

Edra is the first character I created here, and the only one so far who has had any serious time invested by myself. This place has so far been an excellent experience, and something akin to the sort of roleplaying environment I've been searching for, for some time.

As with all characters, I found myself running out of steam a little. While Edra's done plenty, he's not run his course just yet... But I feel it's time to give room for something else, so on the shelf he goes (along with a nice little RP resolution for everything) while I dream up something new for him to do in a few months time.

There are a lot of people who've made playing that character an absolute joy, so I thought I'd best list them.

Shallan Alvere: Edra could not have had a better friend. Also, Rod, thanks for showing me that this game was worth it.

Alais Morgan: It was something that worked so very well given the way the two of them are. An expertly played character, who kept making things interesting. You provided so much scope and space in what you did. FIlling in blanks was a pleasure. The character forced

Buppi: Irritating little cat-hin. Edra would have kicked him if only it wasn't for the fact he was just... not, quite... capable of doing so.

Oliver: Edra could never quite work out whether he should stab him or not, or if he liked him or not... Or really anything. Lots of narrowed eyes, worrying moments, and ultimately, getting a job done in a way that seemed impossible. Thanks for sharing that character with the server.

Liunia: Only a brief meeting, really, but in that time went through a hell of a lot. She made a difference to Edra's mind. OOC, it's been a real pleasure to roleplay with a character so very well established and with such a rich history.

Nyx: A welcome to the server for me, a welcome to everything for Edra. Keep the watch going. Edra's handed his role over to Sorri.

And on that note... Sorri Sin'vah: Great character. Thank you for picking up the slack while Ed found himself with far too much to do. I'm grateful out of character, and Edra was grateful in character.

Nikolaus: Now there's a character I didn't expect to be a major part of Edra's anything... But he was around and about form start to finish and there for most of the real formative stuff. Nik was someone Ed eventually saw as a good friend, and worried about pretty consistently. Well played, interesting, and incredibly difficult. Good job.

Brendon: The two of them seemed to have a fair bit in common in many ways. Flippant and facetious at first glance, but with quite a lot of thought in their actions. Edra liked the guy. You play this character so very well. Keep doing so.

Iku: COOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARDDDDD. Seriously awesome character. Thanks for the XP and quality roleplay.

Morgan and Mary: Distant antagonists are a useful thing to have. You two did this so expertly. Thank you, both.

Zankas: The most infuriating and unbalanced of people, but a character that really helped me figure out who Edra was.

The Bramble Watch folks: You've been unendingly cool. It's been a real pleasure to pretend I knew what I was doing. I look forward to seeing what comes out of this. Get yourselves in trouble. Lots of it.

Playing Edra has been one hell of a ride. Anyone who has had any contact with him has been worthy of praise.

Edrahil was/is basically Buppi's uncle/older brother/something. Real big kudos for helping him through his first interaction with another person in a ~romantic~ way, and all the fun walks through the spires and such. And! Thanks for helping with Buppi's backstory stuff. Lindir family blood helped little Buppi a lot!

Edrahil was a cool dude. Did ranger stuff, even gave Vic boot advice. What a nice guy.

In all seriousness, man, Edrahil was pretty cool from what I saw on Vic. Though I never really met him on any other chars I really liked what I saw from one guy. Keep on it my friend

Poor Edrahil, Zankas' chaos is gone to no longer test and torment you-
Will be missed, just as I was settling into a new character to. Shucks.

Some of my favorite moments were arguing with you.
Or torturing you..

I loved playing with Edrahil! Their alliance bounced back and forth (depending on what crazy thing one of them had done that day) from start to finish. It was odd and funny ^^ I love it when a character stands by his actions or opinions, no matter how risky.

I'm sad I missed the wedding :/ I hope you have a good break!

Nooo.

Aww.

Maeve's going to miss Edrahil and his rambling. It had me laughing a lot. :)

I'm kind of sad they only met so briefly. Edrahil was a great character that managed a good spread between being elven and being involved with other factions and races a lot without becoming a long-eared human.

Liunia was really grateful to have an elf among the new crowd (Oliver doesn't really count, he's a robot). His presence helped her through times of hardship.

I was looking forward to many sessions between the two of them.

Hope to run into him again, or your next character :)

Have to mention the wedding, too. Great event, thanks everyone! Mentioning Brendon individually for conducting the ceremony so beautifully. Really liked the gossiping girls' row :) (with a silently frowning Nikolaus).

I'm still trying to remember how did Edra enter Nik's life (or vice-versa), he sort of just... appeared, and from that moment on Edrahil became "that one cool elf guy".

Thanks for the fun, see you soon.

You mean it was a "going away" wedding? Ah hells! Pity I couldn't stay online for the core of it...(though I did log in later to pickup all the beer/spirits and got ol' Nicodemus plastered!)

Lyssa will have a sad. :) But a happy that Ed and Alais are happy!

Storm has a mild happy over it, so much as she's happy over anything.

Edrahil and Brendon totally could have been two peas in a pod! What you said about them having a fair amount in common is exactly what i thought almost each time they encountered each other. Besides the obvious that Edrahil is a girlyman (elf) whilst Brendon is a ruggedly handsome man (human) ;)

But totally enjoyed everything and loved officiating the wedding for Ed and Alais. Don't worry, Brendon did a pile of naked raindances to promote fertility after the wedding so Edrahil and Alais will be pumping out kids as if they were rabbits!
