Expanding New Monster Slayed Adventure XP

So the current way it works is when you kill the first monster of a certain racial group, example being your first goblinoid, monstrous humanoid, Aberration, ect, you get some adventure xp. My suggestion is to maybe expand this a little to not be classed per racial group, but actual race itself. Being the xp given for the experience of dealing with a certain type of monster should vary between certain monsters. Such as killing a goblin would certainly take more skill and consideration than killing lets say a bugbear, a much bigger, uglier kind of goblin. In turn, the xp bonus given would probably be less, since there's more opportunity to gain the adventure xp. Something to even it out.
