My only worry is if this is going to become needed and I'll have to shunt people off from groups because they can't invest or already are lvl 30 and don't want to relevel to put enough points into it. I don't envy the devs, because incorporating too much climb into a dungeon will just get it ignored for older dungeons but not doing anything with it will just go back to the same issue that's percieved to be the case.
It'd be neato if it was used primarily for skill monkies (read: not wizards with a fey companion) to go into secret cow levels that gives extra runic loot.
Speaking of which how much climb will the pixie have? It is the perfect familiar because it can fly.

Currently my character could spend hours trying to climb up a spot, and never succeed.
Feedback: This sucks. It's bad. I hate it so much.
Hopefully the new system is better, so that you will eventually succeed.

It definitely bork a lot! Like viable weapon master races, I don't even know if that would be a bad thing.

I said earlier, Malcolm, that whirlwind has a INT +13 requirement. I think WM requiring 13 DEX isn't terrible. Expertise is mandatory, but so are skill points, so ultimately, making Expertise be takeable by sub 13 int characters won't actually change anything - since no one actually makes sub 14 int characters anyways, unless they're two-handing, in which case they never intended to take Expertise to begin with.

Now that Climb is live as a skill, will we be able to do a relevel to take advantage of it?

Good point! Does climb w/ a lasso still get +5 from good aim & exotic weapon proficiency?

No, it's too minor a skill. I made some climbing gear yesterday which when found should compensate characters for any lost ranks.

Currently, your intelligence modifier counts as bonus toward climb checks. This should probably be replaced by something like DEX mod, as it seems odd to me that the least-physically focused class (wizards) should be the best at climbing clifffs.

Just curious, but will this climbing gear be something casters can use, like a rope/ladder or will it be equipped gear?
Wondering because switching in climbing gear would mess up a spellbook.
