Vasiira's Farewell

Post by Red Sunset »

I said I'd never make such a thread as this, but I just feel so grateful to have role played with so many and had fun for far longer than I ever expected. I've been busy but also I am finding the motivation to play her lacking so I think it's finally time for her end.

I'm grateful to everyone who had a moment to spare to role play with Vasiira, but I really want to list some who were fixtures (at least so far as my memory over two years will recall them) in Vasiira's time.

Sabal-Such grand adventures, but mostly I enjoyed the philosophical banter, and the attempt at converting/corrupting. Sadly I forgot the other house members' names.

Crinukh-I remember at first Vasiira treated him like dirt or close to it, but it unexpectedly certainly grew into something more.

Viczar-Such a short time you were around, but I remembered how much good trouble you caused. We needed more like him.

Grogak-I always got a laugh at how greedy this duergar was. Vasiira always commented that he was so greedy he'd sell his own mother for a couple extra copper pieces. But more importantly to Vasiira he was someone who knew the power of coin and wasn't afraid to use it.

Kethan-One of the very few other mages Vasiira didn't hate or scorn. And I'm sure he'll understand how that's the best compliment.

Nalfien-I had less interaction with him, but he was memorable and not just because he is so clever.

Fez-The pyromaniac goblin. Fez brought good atmosphere even if he didn't realize it. Vasiira missed the loyal goblin even if she always seemed harsh to him.

Sheen-We interacted only a few times, and it was a shame it was near Sheen's end. Vasiira had plans for the clever rogue.

Jahzard-What a relationship. Vasiira really hated him, then..I'm not quite sure what happened. At first she thought he was an idiot, then later I think she hated him because she feared he might be more clever. But there was at least a grudging acceptance she had to be pragmatic.

Thar'n-You just disappeared one day, but like Kethan Thar'n was a mage she enjoyed speaking with.

Vezgloth-Vezgloth's raw anger was palpable and I know Vasiira put him in at least one hard spot. I missed him when he was gone.

Wheua-At one time Vasiira had hope for Wheua...but Wheua is Wheua (anyone who met her will know what that means). I really appreciated that you were willing to at least entertain the idea of less common magical solutions to problems. I recall at least one plan to use a Nightmare spell on someone. Sadly things moved too fast and we didn't get to, but the plot was memorable.

Sinithra-I'm not sure if you really knew how much Vasiira despised her. Like with many things I kept her intentions obscured, but I enjoyed what affect Sinithra had on Vasiira. I should mention Rauvlin too.

Jharrik Ironguard (The old Thane)-All this time and I'm not sure you ever did find out why Vasiira hated him. It was because in the middle of negotiations over golems he got up said "You're too weak to deal with" and left. Drow are just so petty. Then it went to putting a bounty on one of Jharrik's slaves and many other things. All that defined her so much. Jharrik even showed up and tried to kill her once before he left. Vasiira after kept saying "Naturally I was flattered he suspected me for all his problems, but of this last one I was not the instigator"

Achuak'iejir Stormwind-Those accusations of Vasiira being Eilistraeen -really- made life difficult and I enjoyed that. I hope you take it as a compliment that Vasiira was willing to and did pay one million to have her betrayed and murdered. Yes I ooc know Vasiira got scammed :p, and I thought it might happen, but the doing of it and the chance of getting scammed was deserved in return for what you brought.

Storm Harthglen-an unlikely character I never expected to be rping with when I created Vasiira. The clandestined few meetings were always interesting partly too because Vasiira finally got to rant about why she had that statue stolen from Myon and why she wanted to return it without asking for coin.

Anu-Another one of those dirty "blood caster" apprentices. He caused her so much trouble like Viczar did, but we needed more of both of you, and for longer than you graced us with :)

Alejandro a.k.a. Zeh'shyrr'kalikstraza-Alejandro really caused a lot of tension. Incidentally he was the one Wheua and Vasiira wanted to use a nightmare spell on. Wish things hadn't progressed so fast so we could have attempted, but the time was memorable

Strythio-I think you know which moment I'm recalling when he slammed his door in Vasiira's face.

Thorn (well and lots of flameborns really but I most remember Thorn)- Thorn really made her uncomfortable. You did so well with his expressions and just his entire atmosphere

And just a few other name mentions of people Vasiira interacted with now and then and left a memorable impression

Atrilabax-no that's the wrong one, but I cant remember the other kobold except it started with a K. Sneaky thing was always spying.

Cox-another unexpected hate turned to acceptance

Chana Tum'dugl-that enigmatic jester dressed mage

House Rilyn'aun-I've forgotten all but Matron Mother Iima, but not the giant battle

Kna'ah and Gorronto-I know Kna'ah must have had at least a couple other gnolls in Vasiira's time I just cant keep them straight

Saphira and Ruby-I only had a few interactions with both...circumstances just made anything more difficult.

Nives-bought something from her once...and the entire conversation I kept thinking "Is she going to kill me and take the coin?"

Zestra and bunch-Im really sorry I forgot so many names..especially trying to recall Full Moon's wizard-oh and I do remember Ty'al. The weasel got a free enchanted hammer from Vasiira. She still looking for revenge lol.

The Black Widow-Sorry you were always disguised I dont know the character name. Vasiira mostly just talked battle tactics I think...that wasn't quite her hobby so much as pridefully showing off her cleverness, but she did enjoy trying to wind up the widow to kill off annoyances.

Rico-the tail freak

Vindel Elg'Carin-Vasiira tried to steal him away to her side and failed

Wicket-the whole vivesection stuff with bird's feet and feathers was so revolting to me ooc it just was that well done.

Solaufein-Vasiira's mentor when she arrived. Short time together, but a lasting impression.

Talyrrae, and Lar'anna-Talyrrae was always a talking point and one time ally then adversary then to a truce. Lar'anna (the one of yours I mostly remember Skibbles :) ) was a really interesting warlock. She was a zealot to the cause of order over chaos. I enjoyed that.

I really hope I didn't forget anyone, if so let me know and I can always add. But I want to thank everyone in the underdark again for the great time. I didn't get to know many of the newer faces that recently arrived since I've not been around much, but I do remember you, just I didn't get to know enough to say anything that was beyond the superficial.

Also to whoever got Vasiira's quarter since I didn't log in: I hope her treasure collection is not the cause of such a headache as it was to her. Most of that stuff she accumulated (and we're talking lots of resources folks lol) she didn't even need. She, for instance, heard someone that she didn't like was looking for gold ingots then bought all she could find in the city. Sometimes she'd mention she had such and then refused to sell. It really was a pain not having storage space for anything else, but she just couldn't part with the stuff once she had it.

Also, Vasiira was not and is not Eilistraeen. I thought I'd finally at least clear up that rumour. I might get around to posting up some IC stories of behind the scenes stuff Vasiira did in the past. I think some of the secrets are safe to give up now.

That wizard was real one. Widow felt a full respect and would treat her so even if thought shes heretic. It was a person who never needed to toss around any damned rank title, and my drow temple guard would accept her as boss. Even when...hehe, fired, from sorcere, she considered Vasiira as true archmage.

And even more, both shared their despise to Sinithra and her minions. Your scrolls/wands sold under price or given for free to oppose their mutual enemies helped her a lot.

Edit: Sad to see go one of the few, real drow wizards!

Probably one of the oldest signature mages that I've known in my time in Arelith.
T'iss really the passing of an era, and I've got to see it with four different characters.

Storm knew she wasn't of the faith, but Vasiira remained her last tie to Sabal, long after Sabal was gone. She still thinks of Vasiira, with no small amount of sorrow. (Such as she feels anything anymore). Ches, for her part, was mostly amused at the sight of Puppy!Kethan. XD

I remember Vic getting apprenticed under Vasiira, my very first "serious" character (as in, the only one I stuck with for more than an evening)

Learned a lot from you, and others, but mostly you - about the server, about RPing consistently, about neat little tricks with spells, tricks with NWN quirks. Just a whole lot of stuff.

Thanks for the all the fun, all the help; like others have said, she really was one of those "ideal" type characters - one of the people you think of at mention of a certain class.

She'll be missed!

I'm one of the forgotten House members with Sabal! LOL

Sabal was often too busy running around trying to take over the world, so majority of my time was spent with Vasiira. Testing magic, going on a walk to the Burning Shores, and listening to her throw some serious shade everywhere she went. Haha. Great times!

I also talked to you a lot OOCly as well. I know your work is pretty demanding. I hope you have another character in the work sometime in the future!

Thanks for the fun times!

Vasiira never did get that enchantment work from the Sharpsmaster. But he did like her no-nonsense wizardry self. By that I mean he hated her.

You are great! Hope to see what you do next!

I was always really fond of Vasiira the grumpy mage. She was always fun to RP with on sinithra and rauvlin. Sin never knew how much Vas hated her. Rauvlin, however, was always aware that vasiira hated her, but she will always be "Bossssssss!" <3

NO! i hope you keep her and don't roll her. She is a consistent source of high quality Drow Wizard role-play in the Underdark and I'll miss her a lot. I was always delighted to see her on the playerlist whenever you had time to play her.
Vasiira Mae'rahel get in hall of fame for Drow in my humble opinion.

Left out in the cold *grabs chest in pain*.

I really enjoyed working behind the scenes for Thar'n and Jahzard (separately) to get things done for or against Vasiira. We've not had much personal encounters, as I was instructed not to do so, by my employers then, sothat if anything happened that's not in your favor, you wouldn't expect Yasdia and thus in turn, who ever he was working for at the time.

Vasiira's really added a dynamic that was missing below, when it came to females in the UD, which was one seeking power through business deals, as apposed to through brute force. Which what made her so unique and such a prize in the living organism that was UD.

I can recall her being one of 3 females Yasdia the character, actually had real respect for.

Shame, i kinda always hoped to get something huge with Vasiira so i am kinda sad for your rolling that toon instead of going in one huge blow :)

As you stated Jahz-Vas relations is one of those unexpected in the game, always wanted to make her an aprentice seems i will need to ask Wheua if she is not rolled soon-LOL! :D
Huge KUDOS, however there is that "regret feeling" about it.

I see a few I missed. Vaeluzir, Morfin, and Yasdia

Morfin-Can't believe I forgot him. Vasiira really hated his tax plans. I recall she wanted to have him killed, or at least was ranting about it. She finally settled on promoting him for higher offices and more responsibility. That way she figured he'd have a greater chance to annoy others and the problem would take care of itself without her name attached.

Vaeluzir-Didnt get to spend much time with him, but I was thankful Vaeluzir was willing to play the apprentice and listen to probably tedious lectures on the difference between calling and summoning and dangers of the shadow plane.

Yasdia-Oh I remember him. He tried to trick Vasiira once. Offered to spy on Talyrrae for Vasiira, I think, except, it was all a set up engineered by Talyrrae. Vasiira was suspicious though since it was Yasdia, and she scried on him now and then randomly just to see what he was up to. (Didn't use the scrying tower :D ). Also Yasdia is why I made a drow. I meant to post in your thread, but I didn't get around to it, mostly because I didn't want to let everyone know I played that "jerk" elf who along with a couple other mages kept warding shut the underdark side of the portal at old stonehold, and demanding Yasdia's head. All we got was one really angry Orly'ett though lol. I just had to see what the UD was about after that.

Kethan will miss her. She still knew things that he didn't, and has a very unique way of looking at the world. He considered her his equal....well, nearly so. Almost. I mean, kinda. :P

What that was about, was me just personally wanting to start a large scale war between UD and Myon/Bendir, so I kept doing solo raids to the surface, where I would assault (but leave survivors) on the Bendir Trade route and repeatedly raid and leave stuff in the Lye.

When that didn't work, I Stole Daedin's statue and ransomed it, which was the last straw and caused the portal block. I kept the Daedin statue at the Vhaeraunites, but for some reason, someone must have reported it as destroyed to a DM and it was moved back to the Lye and it disappeared from where I kept it. After that I stopped trying to spark the war between UD and Myon/Bendir.

Playing Vasiira's apprentice was both awesome a very defining for Vaeluzir's character. Even when he became an archmage of Sorcere, he always referred to Vasiira as his mentor and he also learned some really good tricks from her :)
I have always regretted that our timezones do not match and I am really sad to hear your rolled one of the most famous UD wizards.
Anyway! Looking forward to your new char(s)!

Such grand adventures! Glad I happened to checking the forums. I haven't played much since Sabal, but I cherish the fun that was had. As a character, Vasiira was so believable. She fit right in with the rottenness of the underdark. Thanks for the good times and hope to catch you one day on another character!
