Anyone got a good quarterstaff monk build?
Preferably with as many monk levels as possible.
Thank you for your time.

Re: Quarterstaff Monk
The best utilization of qstaff is with majority rogue levels and 6 monk levels. If you're looking for a heavy monk qstaff build, it would be wise to pick up fighter pre-epic to gain enough feats for the two-weapon feat line.

19 rogue/5 fighter/6 monk
pre-epic: 12 rogue/4 fighter/4 monk
Mechanically, it doesn't make sense to take many monk levels when using weapons.
In the Sub-optimal builds thread, yellowcateyes provides a proper description and level breakdown of this build.

In the depths, no one can hear you scream...
Well, they can, but it's really muffled.

Re: Quarterstaff Monk
Mifune is a quarterstaff monk, but he doesnt have a ton of monk levels
Pre-epic level spread is something like 8 monk/4 CoT/8 rogue. Blow-per-blow damage isnt terribly impressive pre-epic, but this is comphensated by the fact you're throwing around 8 or 9 attacks per round with a reasonably high AB (staves get a +2 AB bonus). Early leveling sucks, though.
The normal cutoff for monk is usually 6. I picked up a few extra monk levels for a small boost to saves, monk speed, and free imp. evasion. I loose a whole 1d6 sneak attack die, but I can easily pick that up later by taking the imp. sneak bonus feat as an bonus rogue feat
Post epic the build is 9 monk/4 Cot/17 rogue. The 9th monk level gives me another 10% movement speed and imp evasion for free; I can grab E-dodge immediately at level 27 and grab a different free rogue bonus feat. Crippling strike and defensive roll are musts for the build as far as rogue bonus feats go(-16 STR damage in a single round? Yes please). The last bonus feat is pretty open; slippery mind (high wis/will saves), oppertunitist (circumstantial boost to an already high AB when attempting to KD a mage) or imp. sneak (because more damage is never bad) are all decent picks
This is a feat heavy build, but its still doable. You need two weapons fighting/ambidex, weapon focus, imp weapon focus, and blind fight as a bare minimum. Imp Knockdown is free, which leaves you with a total of 5 free pre-epic feats with a human (2 on creation, 6 from leveling, 2 from CoT). Recommended feats?
-Saving throw bonuses: You're going to have reasonably high saving throws thanks to the monk and CoT levels, but it doesnt hurt to pick up a feat or two to boost your will or fort saves (dex should be stupidly high so its not needed)
-Disarm/Imp disarm: Quarterstaves make good disarming weapons. Not everything can be disarmed, though, but an attack vs a dagger or other tiny weapon gives you a +8 AB boost per attempt
-Called Shot: Not everything can be hit with sneak attacks. Giant or larger creatures have a bonus defense against knockdown; neither of these do as well against called shot spam. That pesky sneak-immune mithril golem is a lot less dangerous when you smack him with a -10 AB penalty.

If you can link this, I'd appreciate that. I did try finding it, but with a lack of results. I'd like to get a look at it just for reference material.Midnight In A Perfect World wrote:19 rogue/5 fighter/6 monk

Edit: I AM BLIND. NEVERMIND. I was looking for a thread by yellowcateyes x.x
