Here's that damned snake Azuzu keeps signing things with and occasionally mentioning...
(for some reason the image cuts off the rest of the right side, so look here for the complete one, not that much is missing)
I know it's not perfect (the cobra hood looks funny, I am so sorry), but I had to stop touching it otherwise I was going to ruin it irreparably.

It was a technique I learned recently that's apparently been around for donkey's years and I was just one of the last to find out about it... It's made painting gold a lot easier and more versatile.
It's supposed to be a statue, and that eye was supposed to be a sapphire eye, but I couldn't get the hang of making it feel more solid and 3D with such a small space to work in.
There's a lot I'd alter about it if I didn't have a horrible feeling I would ruin it. But I need to get more canvasses before I can do any more work.

I'm actually using Games Workshop paints - the gold was a gradual mixture of Snakebite Leather and Mithril Silver, with varying ratios for the different shades. It was posted on a painting forum I'm an avid follower of - it'll be something I use again definitely.

Aw nice! Expensive! Try out acrylics, they're really quick to dry so you can paint over it really easily once its dried and its awesome if you're an impatient painter like I am!
I paint GW models anyway (justasplanned) so it's not too expensive, especially since their new Lahmian Medium is really useful for making a small amount of paint last a really long time.
But you're right, I do intend to invest in a good set of proper acrylic paints when I can afford more canvasses. I have a big communal canvas planned for one of the walls in my new place, so I'll probably sneak something Arelithian onto it.
