I'm seriously burned out right now, and I'm taking a what may be a long break. You've no more reason for concern of me destroying classes or paths or accidentally implementing 2da bugs.
Any work I had started will probably be continued by yellowcateyes (who is by far much more qualified than I am) and his crew.
Have a good time.

Re: Signing Off
Every now and then we have someone joining the team with an intense creative energy to make a slough of improvements across the board. Over the last few months Cortex has been working flat out for Arelith, and while his tenure has been short, it has also been one of the most productive in recent times.
Burnout is all too common in such circumstances, but as with Septire he has left us a legacy that will stand for some time, and is well deserving of all our thanks.
Take care out there, and know that Arelith will always be here should every find yourself back with us.

Re: Signing Off
Hey. Thank you for all your great work! I joined in discussions about class changes (e.g. fighters and barbarians). And even if I suggested some tweaks, the mechanics you implemented were much more thought through and elaborate that I ever would have in mind. Complaining comes quick and loud. But the silent mass enjoys all the work.
The last thing I saw you did send your time on (for the good of us all) was the matter regarding extreme AC/save-builds. You do deserve a medal of Arelith heroes for doing so. (And I hope someone picks up that work.)
I hope you find other, more relaxing ways to enjoy Arelith – sooner or later.
Great thanks!

I will wax on for days about balance concept this and why not that, but at the end of the day, I'm not nwnscript literate, and I am intensely thankful to anyone who is that gives time to a game so dated so that we can all keep playing make believe in a giant digital sandbox.
You got a lot done- thank you for all the hard work!

Serious thanks for your many contributions.

Cortex,
A shame to see you burnt out - the efforts that you put in inspired a lot of change and the server has benefitted from your devotion, inginuity and care. What you accomplished in a short amount of time is something to be proud of.
Take that much earned break. Enjoy yourself. And the light will always be on.

You're a pioneer man, always breaking new ground.
Sometimes silence doesn't sound like appreciation, even when it really needs to. The same goes for the other admins and developers. I hope we can remember to communicate some small but sincere appreciation every once in a while.

Thank you for your updates and the deep impression you have made on Arelith’s gameplay. Your legacy shall live on as bards sing your praises in “The Legend of Cortex: The Man, The Myth, The Revolutionary!”
Seriously, thanks for all the cool updates, man.

Re: Signing Off
Without a doubt, the barbarian update was revolutionary & exciting. Area tweaks & monster spawns have been a breath of fresh air.
Thanks

I suggest a statue of a brain in the illithid dungeon with the following inscription: Cortex, the sire of Bolthax the Ever-Living.High Primate wrote:This man deserves his own IG statue.

Re: Signing Off
Dang it...now I have to change my signature block...which just seems in poor taste now.
On the flip side, I guess Cortex WONT get around to ending the overpowered reign of rogues (tm)!
