Merry Christmas Arelith & Happy New Year (2017 Kudos)

I thought I would limit myself to one sentimental post to cover the season. I'm sure many of us will be busy with friends and family over the next week so taking time to write this up now.

So for all of our staff and community, enjoy your holiday and thanks for making 2017 a truly eventful year for our server.

Changes have been too numerous to list, player numbers have continued to rise significantly, and as we enter 2018 we've a lot to be proud of.

This is also, perhaps, the end of an era, and the beginning of a new one. With all the news surrounding the resurgence of NWN it is likely the landscape will be very different a year from now. Those here with us now may soon be a minority of those playing Arelith and despite all excitement it is hard to say what lies around the corner for us.

We couldn't be in a better place though, and for that I really have to thank everyone. Arelith is magical presence in my life, even still, and I'm immensely proud of what we've achieved together. It's been a long, and sometime bumpy road, but Arelith has not only endured, but flourished.

A decade and a half - some of you have been with us for the duration, many more newly arrived, but against all odds we have done a great deal to keep not just Arelith, but NWN itself, alive and kicking.

We've contined to see so many great contributions, from developers who have now moved on, and those who have recently joined us. Every week seems to being something new and exciting to the server.

This is also traditionally the time where we remember those we have lost over the last year, and so I want to take a quick moment to mention, once again, the passing of the player and staff member Rodent/DM Temerity -a person who despite a relatively short time with us on Arelith left a significant legacy, a gifted writer and good friend to many here.

In all likelihood I won't be terribly active over the next week, so have a fantastic holiday everyone, and (for a third time) a profound thank you for everything.
