The golem guards outside the Arcane Tower haven't changed since the tower was moved out of the bramble woods. While they were perfectly fine for killing bramble woods gobins, they're rather underwhelming as guards where they are now, as they're unable to fight off orcs, stronger goblins, or even the randomly spawning shades that pop up in the area without taking significant damage.
Theres really no ic reason the tower wouldn't have done something to upgrade/replace the golems with more effective guards.

There has been a modification to the guards. They should be able to handle and properly address their current threats from the Trade Route.
