And all the while, they opened paths to the wicked they had forgotten, and protected others. A single call for help brought the Frost, to cool the flames of hate and war, to soften the harshest falls with gentle snow, and to hold shield and blade for those who needed it most.
The Frostblades are a mostly Good faction that were born from the Skal server some small time ago, and have risen to be a well known faction from nothing but pure tenacity and hard work on the part of all those involved in both it's players and even their villains.
Originally created as a helpful group of adventurers who later became known as Skal's main protective force, the Frostblades are a diplomatically neutral faction dedicated to helping whomever they can, and encouraging change in evil characters to offer paths of 'redemption' without necessarily needing execution or justice in it's more violent forms.
Lead by Mach Fryar, the Frostblades became a name known well across all of Arelith, even in Andunor. Despite the trials and tribulations of the "Frosties" they have managed to hold on and secure themselves much; the trust of the surface settlements, and helpful factions, even forming an official alliance with another neutral faction, the Winter's Rest.
The request is to make the Frostblades a Skal-based faction, possibly taking up residence in the Artificer's Tower (removing them and their dubious and possibly dangerous ways from Skal) and having a faction base that newbie players can appeal to and enjoy. It allows for quick response from the troubles the island has seen in recent times, with Skallians ever facing pressure and suffering from Cyric and Bane both, and gives player characters and players a sense that Skal matters to someone, a sentiment that is hard to maintain in an isolated place.
The goals is the following:
- Faction pins, in a light blue color, with the ranks of "Shard" (recruits), "Frostblade", "Rimeblade", "Glacial". (That would be hidden on -disguise)
- The Artificer's Tower becoming a base with a floor or two for housing, a portal destination for pinned members, small rooms (not unlike the Lodge and Trade post) and basic crafting and amenities. Maybe anything else that might be fun to put in. (Figured this would be easier than building a whole new tower)
- A Frostblade/Speedy Messenger for public use (hopefully used mostly for calling the Frostblades for help, since that's the point)
- Faction recruitment using an NPC that can be accessed through a Frostblade only area (rather than the Radiant Heart's class restriction, thereby removing 'paladin dips' and such, and allowing more diverse Good players to join something that isn't a town guard)
- Promote actual following of the Mayor's rules about 'no murder in town'.
