Fixture Functions

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

Fixture Functions

Post by The Rambling Midget »

I recently came across one of those newfangled barrel fixtures and noticed that it doesn't have a handling option, meaning that it has to be picked up with -pickup_fixture. In one sense it's a hassle, but it also make the fixture much easier to use, once it's set down.

With some public education, I think that it could be applied to other fixtures like chairs and crafting things, to prevent misclick pickups, and make room for more special functions.

The iron and wood signboard, for example, could have a renaming/re-describing option, sans enchantment basin, for use in player built temporary shops.

I also think it would be hilarious to give the Torture Rack a use option which suspends the character with their arms out to the side.
