none of this post is correct whatsoever, it's actually impressive in a debased sort of wayEbonstar wrote: Sun Oct 07, 2018 5:10 pm if weapon finesse actually worked the dex modifier would be added to damage

This is 5th edition degeneracy. NWN is 3rd edition rules, in which case weapon finesse is working as intended, and correctly.Ebonstar wrote: Sun Oct 07, 2018 5:10 pm if weapon finesse actually worked the dex modifier would be added to damage

Prerequisite: Proficient with weapon, base attack bonus +1 or higher. Choose one light weapon. Alternatively, the character can choose a rapier, provided the character can use it in one hand, or a spiked chain, provided the character is at least Medium-size.
Benefit: With the selected weapon, the character may use a Dexterity modifier instead of a Strength modifier on attack rolls. Since the character needs the second hand for balance, apply the armor check penalty of any shield worn to attack rolls.
Special: The character can gain this feat multiple times. Each time the character takes the feat, it applies to a new weapon.
If Weapon Finesse worked as intended, it would be a straight downgrade from what it is: it would only work for a single chosen weapon type, any shield used would apply its armor check penalty to your attack rolls, and you still wouldn't get dex to damage.
