Give Option for Paladins to be Lawful Neutral

So basically give the option for Paladins to get Lawful Neutral as an alignement like the Oath of Vengeance ones from the 5th edition.

Nothing else would have to be changed mechanically as they should still thrive to do good,through their...unusual methods,so Lawful Neutral paladins would still get Smite Evil and all that.

My thought process for this is that it leads to better and more open RP concerning paladins,but not too open.It would basically let the idea of paladins that use torture to get information,are zealots,defeat evil at any cost and other things be possible without being reportable.

As long as all the characters are doing is for the greater good,nothing like enjoying torture and stuff like that.

Here the oaths an Oath of vengeance paladin takes in 5th edition,as it might explain what i mean in a better way than myself:

"Fight the Greater Evil: Faced with a choice of fighting my sworn foes or combating a lesser evil, I choose the greater evil.

No Mercy for the Wicked: Ordinary foes might win my mercy, but my sworn enemies do not.

By Any Means Necessary: My qualms can't get in the way of exterminating my foes.

Restitution: If my foes wreak ruin on the world, it is because I failed to stop them. I must help those harmed by their misdeeds."

No on this one. People already avoid the good/evil alignments to avoid being victim of the Smite feat. Allowing Paladins to be neutral would soon result in very few good ones at all. There are other class options for characters wishing to play this kind of character. Rejected.
