Faction menu - View Members by Rank?

Post by Dragonfyre »

As the title suggests, I think it would be extremely useful if a new option to view faction members by rank were to be added. As it is now, you can View Members (which seems to be sorted randomly, in no particular order at all, even though the ranks are listed), or View Ranks (but you can't see members while looking through the ranks). In larger factions like the Arcane Tower, which has thirteen pages of members, it's a chore trying to search through the member list to find members of a certain rank to keep tabs on things like whether or not someone's been added, removed, promoted, or what have you.

Can we, pretty pretty please, get this added in?

To awnser that, ther options in the faction menu that can make it sort of that way, takes some digging, but each rank you can set certain abilities and so fort. But as far i am aware, and correct me if i am wrong, factions is an ooc tool to give acces to shops and quarters. And names in the faction list can not be seen as an ic tool to contact and screan people, never met them ic then you don’t know them. Sure i think its ok to ooc that a bit. but not sure to what extend.

I know there are levels of details that Faction Owners can allow their members to view.

And I believe there is a "View Member Ranks" option, which lets you see the member's name AND the rank of that person.

In my faction, when you view the faction members, you see their rank in parenthesis. Everyone in the Faction knowes exactly what other member of the faction is in what rank.

Maybe the factions you are currently part of don't have this activated.

-that said.. it would be very good to be able to view the list of members grouped by rank, sorting them low to high or high to low.

I've gone through all the faction options exhaustively, and there is no way to look up members of a certain rank, exclusively by rank, whether you've been given all available options, or are even the faction leader. And what I'm suggesting isn't for "screening" or contacting people. It's purely for ease of use, so that it's easierfor faction leaders to keep track of promotions and what have you, to make sure the right people have the right rank without having to dig through page after page of unsorted member names. Is that so hard to understand?

There's a "View Members" option, and a "View Ranks" option. Yes, the "View Members" option allows you to see member ranks, if you've been given the power to see ranks, but there is no way to view members by rank.

Take for instance, my character. She's a Senior Warden at the Arcane Tower, with power to see ranks, recruit, and promote new members (among other things). The Wardens are a sub-section of the Arcane Tower faction, which - as I pointed out before - has a memberlist 13 pages long. It is a chore having to search through said memberlist to find the 10 names associated with the Wardens to make sure their promotions have been given when and where applicable.

Hmm 13 pages is a lot yes. Might be an idea to keep wardens and mages seperated? What also happends and i noticed in the factions we manage around, that names keep standing after said charecter is deleted. If people know if certain players aint active anny more or are deleted would help to reduce the number of people in the list. You can also link factions with each other as far i am aware. Wat we did to reduce the number is to make seperate factions for each branch, and the heads of said guilds/factions have acces to it to keep track of what and who. Its a bit of a hassel, but once we configured that, things went quite smooth. Hope this helps!
