The rarity of malachite compared to greenstone

I just found an are with three greenstone nodes right next to each other. I only know of three malachite nodes across the entire land. Why is malachite so rare compared to greenstone? As a wizard/artist it makes me feel incredibly conservative with my spell casting.

At one point I found enough greenstone and malachites on bodies to mass produce them for 5000 GP per like 21 or so gems.
EDIT: But I do find raw malachites on dead mobs more often than I find veins to mine of the stone.

malachite has veins but they just dont sit alongside the roads or portals like greenstone, just have to look harder or be the one looting to find the raw stones people ignore 99 percent of the time
