Frigid Problems Writ

Anyone else having a hard time finding enough Ice Spider Hatchlings to kill in this writ? For those unaware, you need to kill 8 of those to complete the writ, but I'm personally yet to find all 8 of them in a single run of that dungeon, and meanwhile there's no shortage of Ice Crawlers and Ice Spiders to kill. The backtracking is a bit annoying. Anyone else experiencing the same or am I just unlucky?

Every time I've ever done that writ there was a shortage of the hatchlings. I've always had to leave the area and come back.

This is easily one of the worst writs to pick up in its level range. The spiders themselves give lackluster experience and there are often not enough of the specific type of mob you want in the area - not just hatchlings, but others. I did it three times, finally figured out how much I hated doing it on the fourth, and have warned people away from it ever since.

Agreed. You will never find 8 of the small ones in one go. Might take as many as 3-5 trips.

This is one of those writs where it really needs to be Kill X number of enemies (in general) and then kill a female ice spider.
You will never find more than 3 hatchlings in one run.

I think if you take the writ at the first level it's available, you get nothing but hatchlings. None of the tougher spiders.

It is a bit annoying and it's not helped that they drop no loot. The only good thing I can say is it's close to a lot of other writs so you can pass through on the way in and out, though even then you may not get enough hatchlings.

Only if you solo, and you better be ready to lose gold on every trip for kits and lesser resto scrolls. If you bring people with you, you'll get just about everything but hatchlings though, so its lose lose unless you're playing a warlock.
