Copying Notes Posted to Message Boards.
Current system for posting notes is great. Smooth, user-friendly, fantastic.
But when some jerk wanders off with the whole message board it’s all gone.
To this end I would love a method of copying notes already posted, so we can quickly create another if needed. An option when viewing the message to put a copy of it into your inventory, uneditable and ready to post again if needed.
I’m putting this out here because a -very- important message board wandered off from Skal and while I wasn’t the author, I know the time and effort that goes into these things. Having easily obtainable copies will prevent this kind of griefing.

i might be wrong and i havn't tested it. but i somehow recall the owner of a message board can remove notes on it. and if so... then you can temporary take any notes off the board and make a copy for then to re-post the note again.

Yeah, you can. It's why you often see {faction tags} on these things, so anyone with permission and part of the faction, can audit what's on a board. Take a note off, use it on a blank paper, and voila you have a copy.

I knew none of that, so thank you both. Much appreciated.
I would still love the ability to copy a message posted to a board without having to have that particular message in your inventory. A minor quality of life improvement.

It would be nice for people who are not the board owner/in the faction to be able to copy the note. Many times I have wanted to relay written notes from message boards to other interested parties, which requires a non trivial amount of effort to not butcher the original message when typing it over by hand. (Even worse if you need to copy multiple related messages at the same time.)
Re: Copying Notes Posted to Message Boards.
I agree with the OP, but mostly because it would save time to people copying notes IC to carry it around. While my character was exiled I've had people copying some of the messages of the board to relay it (only the core ofc because it's annoying to do), and such things would be much more easy with said system.
I personnally think that stealing message boards should be forbidden unless there's a lot of RP behind it. I think such things should be restaured by DMs if the RP didn't exist, for the sake of all other's people RP, and for the efforts put into writing the notes.

When you have a message board that represents an archive, or a collection of knowledge amassed over time (think: Heartwood Treehouse) losing that message board is a MOST disheartening thing, even -if- there was RP behind it. At least when a message board is BASHED, you can gain SOME clue as to what happened, and you can recover the bashed board.
When it's stolen, it's just gone. Gone gone gone... along with your hopes and dreams. It's bad enough when a fixture with a custom description turns up missing. A message board with 20+ items on it getting stolen is like 20+ fixtures all with custom descriptions ALL going missing at the same time. It's crushing.
Something I would like to see made available should the suggestion forum ever come open would be these modifications:
1) When someone picks up a message board, their character description is changed, so that ANYONE who examines that character can see some text reading something like "THIS CHARACTER IS CARRYING A MESSAGE BOARD, NAMED {Name of Message Board}"
this would be an AWESOME addition since it would allow EYEWITNESSES to finger the message board thief.
2) When a message board is picked up and carried across a transition... ANY TRACKS left behind include an additional text that includes something like "...was carrying something large" -that way, it gives great RP to recover that stolen board by Track-Reading characters, since stealing message boards is such an egregious offense... at least if you are in time to see the tracks.
Maybe one day when the Suggestion Forum opens up, I'll make this suggestion.
