Royal Outfit + Rogue Leathers

Post by Iceborn »

While it may have made sense at some point in the past, the writ system has enabled players to practically skip the lower levels, and Arelith has long moved from the "YOU WANT TO LEVEL UP? 5 XP PER RAT TAIL OR DIEEEEEEEEEE" grind that was the past.

So that left a lot of recipes that are practically useless anymore. And with the implementation of the runic system, some recipes that could be useful... are simply not as much as they could, or show be.

These are three recipes that could use some tweaking:
Image

Both the Courtier and Noble outfit are not items I think you will ever see... -anybody- ever making.
And the Royal Outfit, being a +2 charisma cloth, is lovely for sorcerers, but it could use a little tweak to make it a little more customization-friendly.

This is practically a suggestion, but I think that the +1 AC from the Royal Outfit should be dropped, which would allow people to use a lesser rune, or enchant and use a medium rune on them.

About the rogue leathers, I just had one small suggestion.
If you've seen the recipe for the rogue leather, you need to make:
>Leather Armor
>Fine Leather Armor
>Flexible Leather Suit
>Enchanted Flexible Leather Suit
>Rogue Leather

Now, I don't have any objection with nested recipes by themselves, specially with the mastery update that makes it much faster to craft low level stuff, but...
The fine leather armor turns into two recipes - the Enchanted Fine Leather Armor, and the Flexible Leather Suit, and there's a 33% chance that I'll get them mixed when I want to make a rogue leather. Can we have the FLA removed? Since it doesn't really... serve any purpose anymore, having far better variants to wear.

Some ideas for consideration.

Like how ranger's runic can be crafted stand-alone, or from the lower tier version, might be cool to see those royal outfits be able to be built into each other for a reduced cost. Lower DC's and Material costs, overall, making it slightly more worthwhile.

That said as well, something I've always found interesting is how on Arelith we're allowed to change how an armor piece appears. Colors, style. Totally under our control for the most part, save that certain armor types seem to be limited to a particular selection of styles. It's in this vein of thinking I've always thought it might be fun to see certain pieces of armor be purely for the visual aesthetic.

For example, while maybe the courtier's + armor pieces aren't especially useful for combat, maybe they have access to especially fancy visual models that NO OTHER armor pieces do. It would let people really flaunt their prestige, to show that you don't care about personal well-being (mechanical strength).

I'm here to stunt on dese scrubs, bby. The focus being on creating a more posh appeal. You have a look not many can afford to take up, without worrying about losing out on wearing the best armor at all times.

Gives fashion a little bit of social dynamic. Which in turn having these armor pieces grant bonus social skills (like persuade)? Apex immersive awesomeness.

There are a lot of items rarely crafted and I think we could just remove them.

Meanwhile I also think we could lower the DCs of a lot of items so beginning crafters have something to craft worth crafting.

The royal outfit having +1AC is either wrong ir something that changed within the past, like. God. Idk. Few years.

The courtier's outfit is nice to enchant! But the others could do with love.

I made a few of these the other day and I could have sworn that they had the +1 AC.
Guess I'll make another to check.

Either way, they are in the 5% when it comes to enchanting, which for an item with two very basic properties, is very lame.

The one with just +5 persuade can be easily enchanted, to my recollection.

The 3 versions have +5 Persuade Kuma.
I tossed the Royal one at an enchanter with DC3 the other week, it was a 5% roll. Of that I am 100% sure.
(Hence why I made this thread!)

Sorry. Sleep deprivation tends to eat words.
Yeah, but the sweet of these armors is the +2 Charisma. Not the Persuade.
