Lag on the server (currently)

Post by Red Ropes »

Some time ago we had some crippling lag- that was banished - but for the last two weeks or so I've noticed a uptick in lag on all three servers. It's not as bad as it was but there have been like 3-5 second pauses and resetting the servers doesn't really seem to fix it.

Any idea what it is?

Noticed this also.
It becomes nearly unplayable at high user counts with the server seemingly about to crash as if paused then righting itself, but even low counts of 20-40 players is still causing the lag as described.

I would also like to know if the cause is known/being worked on.

This lag has been unbearable several times over the last week for me, specifically on Cities. Currently I'm experience 10+ second delays, as are at least three other people in game I've asked.

Lag's been getting pretty bad of late, can anyone look into this please?

Genuinely painful at this point. I haven't been able to reliably go out adventuring or really play the game in any mechanical function without constant rubber-banding.

I've noticed it as well. Surface and Distant Shores seem to be less spiky than C&P, but all three servers are running with significant and frequent lag.

I'm rubberbanding almost all the time when the player counts are up.

Cities and Planes is lagging tremendously, right now. It's practically impossible to do anything, The lag has been pretty bad the past week or more, but it's especially bad today. As mentioned, getting delays of ten seconds or greater.

Do we know what's causing this? Or if there's a fix in the works?

We will continue to monitor our performance tools and perform root cause analysis of the issues in attempt to resolve this issue.

Thanks.

Ah yeah want to add onto this as well. It comes and goes but it can get really bad and lag for a good 15 seconds every other minute or so. Haven't noticed until this week and perhaps the tail end of the previous.

It is Arelith. Most of the times it seems to be specifically the C&P server for me.

Definitely just Arelith, and yeah I can go from Distant Shores and occasionally surface, having a relatively lagfree experience, to Cities and Planes and be rubberbanding everywhere.

Just wanted to add to this- the lag is stupidly bad right now and has been all day. From other players I've spoken to it's been this way constantly so it's not an issue on my end : /

Absolutely awful on C&P right now. (Has been for the last hour)
Thankfully this team is no longer being used.

And again, right now, the lag is absolutely horrendous and unplayable. Lag spikes every few seconds, ranging from 3 to 8 seconds long. Cities & Planes.

Getting the same sort of lag intermittently on Distant Shores.

It does seem. To come and go. Was fine for a few hours then back to rubberbanding and waiting several seconds for actions to occur. It spoked again for me at like 3-5 pm Central
