One-Way/Exploding Goblin Messengers

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
    Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

One-Way/Exploding Goblin Messengers

So...a simple suggestion; have the option of a one-way goblin messenger.

Mechanics : Costs 1,000gp. Same messenger mechanic, except instead of *runs off* the goblin *drinks poison and dies*. Corpse drop of regular lowbie goblin type, ala bramble wood variety etc.

Why?

1) Its evil. It gives the sender evil cookies.

2) Goblins are evil [see #1]. Goblins are a swarm race, the pawns on the chess board of evil. They can take the losses.

3) What evil mastermind, who would employ goblin messengers, would take the risk in giving an organization of gobbos the ability to amass intelligence on all their dealings? Ive always found this to be even more immersion breaking than when they show up in the Temple of ***SPOILER ALERT***.

4) Its yet another way to spend your pile of gold. Gold sink!

***EDIT Didn't think of this before. I also like the idea of exploding goblin messengers! As in, "this message will selfdestruct"...

Maybe with a countdown, the gol holding a torch, and a lvl 3 fireball effect on death? Too fancy?
